Most altcoins are also in the green today, with ETH approaching $1,900 and XRP regaining support at $1.36. SOL and XMR have risen the most compared to the larger market caps.
BTC bounces to $65K
Bitcoin was violently rejected on both occasions at the start of the previous business week to regain the $70,000 level, and subsequent corrections pushed it south to $66,000 on Wednesday. It recovered in the following days and rose above $68,000 over the weekend.
However, more macro uncertainty followed the latest tariff developments, including a new 10% to 15% global tax levy by Trump. BTC initially remained stagnant, but took a nosedive on Sunday evening/Monday morning when the futures markets opened. In just over an hour, the cryptocurrency plummeted to less than $64,500.
After a dead-cat bounce, the bears were back in control on Tuesday and began another move lower – this time bitcoin fell to a new three-week low of $62,500. The bulls finally woke up at this point and drove the asset north by about $4,000. It stopped there and is now above $65,000, but it is still up 3% on the day.
The market cap has regained the $1.3 trillion level, while dominance over alts has risen above 56%.
Alts try to rebound
Most altcoins have also suffered heavy blows in recent days. Ethereum fell to $1,800, but is now $100 higher at $1,900. XRP is back at a crucial support at $1.36, while BNB is approaching $600. TRX, DOGE, BCH, ADA and HYPE are also in the green daily.
SOL and XMR have risen the most compared to the larger market caps. A 7% gain has taken the former to $82, while the latter is above $335.

The total cryptocurrency market cap has recovered around $80 billion daily and has risen to $2.330 trillion on CG.
