Shares of RBL Bank today finished RS 253 on the NSE, which fell with RS 2.40 or 0.94% in the middle of weak market sentiments. Indian Headline Indices ended on Thursday with sharp cuts, because American rates and monthly expiration date weighed on the markets. The sale was seen across the board, while it is more prominent in banks, IT and FMCG shares. While Nifty 211.15 points or 0.85% fell to close to 24,500.90, the 30-Stock S&P BSE Sesex ended at 80,080.57, with 705.97 points or 0.87%.
RBL Bank today witnessed a few bulk deals. In one, Societe General bought more than 32.78 Lakh shares, while in the other it sold more than 1.29 LAKH shares at a price of RS 251.19 per share. A buyer remained on a net basis.
RBL shares have achieved the return of 12% in the last 12 months that perform better than Nifty and Sesex, each of which has fallen almost 2%. The share is in top form this year and has set 60% on an annual basis.
RBL Bank shares are currently being traded above their 200-day simple advancing average of RS 1,867.4, while slipping under the 50-day SMA of RS 1,986.1 according to Trendlyne data. The share was traded with a high volatility with 1 year beta of 1.2.
The credit provider of the private sector had reported a standing net profit of RS 200.33 CRORE for the first quarter ending in June 2025, a decrease of 46% on an annual basis compared to a profit of RS 371.52 CRORE in the corresponding quarter of last year, because weaker interest income. Crore a year ago and fell 5% consecutively compared to RS 1,563 Crore in the quarter of March 2025. The net interest rate margin of the bank (NIM) for Q1 FY26 was 4.50%. The operating profit decreased by 18% yo, 703 Crore, in which the bank attributed the contraction to a reduction in uncovered lending and the impact of the recent reduction in the repo rate. In the meantime, the operating costs rose by 12% JoJ to RS 1,847 Crore, compared to RS 1,646 Crore in Q1 FY25.
