SNGPL restarts long-delayed LPG project in Chitral – S2S BLOG

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) will restart the long-delayed LPG air blend project in Chitral. The project was originally approved several years ago, but stalled for various reasons.

Chitral is a remote and mountainous district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where access to natural gas has long been a major problem. The LPG airmix project is intended to supply gas to residents who do not have access to the main gas network.

The project was first approved during the previous PTI government. However, progress slowed after a change in administration. Now efforts are underway to revive and complete the project so that local communities can finally benefit from it.

Officials said the project will help meet the energy needs of Chitral and reduce the hardships faced by residents, especially during the winter season. Once completed, it is expected to provide a reliable gas supply to households in the area.

The revival of the project is welcomed by local representatives, who say it is an important step towards improving basic services in the region. They stressed that timely completion is essential to address Chitral’s long-standing energy challenges while ensuring environmental protection.
