Smriti Mandhana announced her marriage to famous Bollywood singer and composer Palash Muchhal on November 23. However, it faced a major roadblock as the cricketer’s father suffered a sudden heart attack on the day of the wedding.

The wedding has been halted as of now and no details have been confirmed about the status of their wedding ceremony. The attack took place at the Mandhana family farm in Samdol, Sangli.
According to the family, Mandhana’s father’s health deteriorated on Sunday morning and he was taken to hospital in an ambulance. His condition seemed stable, but doctors prescribed that he must remain in hospital for some time.
“The doctors have said that he has to stay in the hospital till the time he gets better… I mean, we are all a bit in shock too. We all want him to recover quickly. Like I said, Smriti is very clear. She wants her father to get better first before thinking about the wedding,” Mandhana’s manager added.

Smriti Mandhana’s manager Tuhin Mishra confirmed that she has postponed her wedding indefinitely until her father recovers.
“This morning, when Smriti’s father Mr Shrinivas Mandhana was having breakfast, his health started deteriorating,” Mishra told the media on Sunday.
“We waited for a while because we thought it might be normal and that he would get better. But it kept getting worse. We thought we wouldn’t take any chances and called the ambulance. He was taken to hospital and is under observation.”
“Smriti Mandhana, as you know, has a very close bond with her father. Hence, she decided that this wedding, which was supposed to take place today, will be postponed indefinitely until such time as he is not well,” he added.
