Mandhana came into the match needing 27 runs, with 9,972 runs already to her name in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. She arrived in style and gave a gentle push to bring out the landmark.

The left-hander became only the fourth woman in international cricket and the second Indian to cross 10,000 runs. She joined former India captain Mithali Raj in an elite list that has shown rare consistency over the years.

India was already leading 3-0 in the five-match T20I series, but Mandhana made sure the fourth game had its own story. She started with Shafali Verma and allowed her partner to attack freely while holding one end tightly.

The pair gave India a flying start as they raced to 61 without loss in the powerplay. Shafali played the aggressive role, while Mandhana picked her moments and kept the scoreboard moving.

By the 10th over, Mandhana was unbeaten on 37 off 31 balls and hit six boundaries. Shafali came close to her half-century with 48 off 29 balls as Sri Lanka struggled to slow down the runflow.

Mandhana’s milestone places her alongside some of the biggest names in women’s cricket. The list includes Suzie Bates and Charlotte Edwards, underscoring the level she has reached.

Across all formats, Mandhana has been India’s most reliable top player for almost a decade. From red ball cricket to high-pressure T20Is, she has adapted her game without losing her natural flair.
