Liverpool embarked on a record-breaking summer spending spree ahead of the 2025/26 season, investing more than £400 million in new signings.
Among them were British record deals for Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, each of whom endured disappointing starts at the club.
Milos Kerkez, signed from Bournemouth for £40m, has also struggled this season but Slot believes there have been encouraging signs of late.
Wirtz was involved in the equalizer during the midweek draw with Sunderland, while Isak scored a long-awaited first league goal for Liverpool at West Ham last weekend.
Ahead of this weekend’s clash with Leeds, Slot said he is confident the new recruits will quickly find their best level.
“There were also positive things to see from the players brought in over the summer as I see them becoming more and more consistent in their performances,” he said at his pre-match press conference.
“Florian [Wirtz] may be the most obvious, but I see the same thing with Milos Kerkez. Alex [Isak] scored his first goal a match ago. So there are positive points to be achieved, but of course we are not yet where we want to be. But compared to where we were after our last two defeats – 3-0 and 4-1 – there are also things we have done better.”
