SLC announced that they were taking swift action and engaging aggressively with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the safety and well-being of the entire population. “Following this development, SLC has immediately contacted the players and assured them that all these concerns are being duly addressed in close coordination with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and relevant authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of every member of the touring party,” SLC said in an official statement on Wednesday, November 12.
In addition to the comment, the board also recommended that all players of the current squad and support staff will remain in Pakistan and continue with the original schedule as planned. Furthermore, it added that if any member of the squad or support staff chooses to return home, this will be considered a disobedience to the directive and thus a formal investigation against such person(s) will take place.
“If a player, players or member of the support staff return despite SLC guidelines, a formal review will be conducted to assess their actions, and an appropriate decision will be made at the end of the review,” the board statement said.

Moreover, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi himself has assured the visiting team members of their strict safety protocols to ensure the tour continues undisturbed. Besides, Naqvi will also hold an official meeting with the Lankan squad. However, it should be noted that the tour’s original schedule has undergone a revision, with all matches postponed by one day each.
