Sky announces TV-picks in opening months from 2025-26 championship

Sky Sports has announced their TV -picks for August – September 2025 in the championship.

All 12 games on the opening weekend of 8-10 August will be broadcast live in Sky Sports in line with the current contract, starting with the season opener of Birmingham City against Ipswich Town, which were confirmed when the fixture list of the season was released.

Sky has since confirmed their choices for the rest of August and September, with remarkable highlights, including Wrexham’s first home game of the season against West Brom on Saturday, August 16 at 12.30 pm BST.

The two relegated Premier League teams from last season will collide on Sunday, August 17 at noon in Portman Road while Ipswich met Southampton, tipped with both teams to fight for promotion this season.

The broadcaster two weeks later will broadcast two huge regional derby’s, since Leicester will be broadcast on 29 August at 8 p.m. in a collision of midlands, Leicester, before Middlesbrough is confronted with Sheffield Utd in a Yorkshire -derby -the same as it is to be too debutable with Boro fans.

September’s Championship Action starts on Portman Road when Ipswich Sheffield United met on 12 September in a kick -off of 20.00, after the international break.

That weekend also sees London and South Coast Derbies as Charlton host Millwall in a showdown in southern London on September 13 at 12.30 pm, before Southampton Portsmouth entertains at noon on September 14.

The live action of September is concluded with two blockbuster Midlands Derbies while West Brom Leicester met on Friday 26 September at 8 p.m., before Coventry faces Birmingham on Saturday 27 September at 12.30 p.m.
