Six players who have rejected Newcastle in this transfer window

Newcastle United has a nightmare summer in the transfer market. The magpies were pressed in the Champions League places last season, which led to an optimism of a summer of progress.

It has been changed instead to a turbulent period, with the non -landing of top goals and key figures that insist on an exit. Leading Scorer Alexander Isak is currently training away from the main group, while looking at a move to remove, but the failure of Newcastle to find a replacement has further complicated things.

Benjamin Sesko seems to be the newest name that Tyneside snubs, whereby the Slovenian is said to prefer Manchester United. Newcastle has submitted a club record offer, but probably seems to endure more disappointment.

We have investigated the transfer goals that Newcastle rejected this summer.

Nightmare Summer from Newcastle: Six players to reject a transfer

Dean Huijsen

Dean Huijsen was one of the first major movers of the summer, while clubs were climbing to sign the Spanish center-back.

A release clause of £ 50 million caused a fierce race for the Bournemouth defender, with Newcastle one of the five Premier League clubs to have conversations with the player’s representatives. The temptation of Real Madrid, however, turned out to be too strong when Huijsen ended the English interest to move to the Bernabeu.

Liam Delap

Another player whose release clause started a scrap for his services. Delap enjoyed a breakthrough Premier League campaign last season and scored 12 times in the competition despite the relegation of Ipswich.

A release clause of £ 30 million looked good, and Newcastle was one of the many parties that were aware of their intention to pay that compensation. Delap, however, decided Chelsea, mening with former Manchester City Youth Coach Enzo Maresca in West -London.

Bryan Mbeumo

Newcastle joined Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in chasing Mbeumo, while the Magpies wanted to sign a right winger. Mbeumo scored 20 goals and added seven assists during a brilliant campaign in Brentford, but decided his future early.

The Cameroon International gave Priority to Manchester United and eventually moved to Old Trafford in a £ 71 million deal. Instead, Newcastle moves to Anthony Elanga van Nottingham Forest, who moved to St James’ Park for a fee of £ 55 million.

Joao Pedro

For the second time, Newcastle saw a deal for João Pedro going through. The Magpies were about to sign Pedro from Watford for £ 30 million in 2022, with the transfer even the Fabrizio Romano ‘here we go’ treatment before he collapsed.

Newcastle visited a move for Pedro, now from Brighton, this summer, but again did not succeed in closing in the deal. The Brazilian international joined the former goal Liam Delap in Chelsea.

James Trafford

Eddie Howe will curse his recruitment team because he has not landed James Trafford. Newcastle seemed to have a free run with the Burnley goalkeeper, but stuck at the match of a fee and saw the competition surface.

Manchester City arrived at the table last month and won the race for their former Academy graduate. Newcastle turned as an alternative to Aaron Ramsdale.

Hugo Ekitike

Liverpool defeated Newcastle in one of the sagas of the summer for signing Hugo Ekitike. Newcastle had submitted an offer of € 70 million for the Eintracht Frankfurt Vooruit, but the approach to Liverpool proved convincing.

The Reds signed the top goal of Newcastle and still insist on a deal for the current Newcastle striker Alexander Isak in a potential double flowers to Eddie Howe’s rebuild.
