Named the Ohio 2-Year-Old Pacing Colt of the Year in 2024 with a 6-2-1 record and $568,000 in earnings in 11 starts, Sippinonsearoc had an even better season in 2025. The son of Downbytheseaside out of Queen Ann M recorded seven wins, two seconds and three thirds and the bank $792,375 in 15 starts to surpass $1 million in his career earnings. He won the $600,000 Breeders Crown at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Oct. 25 in a stakes record and lifetime best 1:47.3, in addition to winning the $400,000 Kentucky Championship Series Final and the $100,000 fifth leg of the Ohio Sires Stakes. Trainer Ron Burke believes Sippinonsearoc might have had even more success had it not been for some talented stablemates.
“There’s no telling what that horse would have done if it hadn’t been for other horses from my own stable,” Burke said. “Every time he was beaten, it was by a horse from my stable. He really is a top horse.”
Sippinonsearoc, bred by Trent Stohler Stable and Alesha Binkley, has a 13-4-4 record in 26 career starts, earning $1,360,375. He is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, RAS Racing and Knox Services.
Sippinonsearoc will be honored at the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association Annual Awards Banquet on January 10 at the Renaissance Columbus-Westerville in Westerville, Ohio.
The 2025 Ohio Horse of the Year will be announced during the awards banquet.
