‘Silence was not absence, it was sorrow’ – RCB break three months of silence after Bengaluru Stampede | Cricker

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) placed on social media for the first time in three months after the tragic rush outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, which claimed 11 lives and injured 75 people. Chaos unfolded on 4 June during the victory parade of RCB after their IPL 2025 Triumph.

RCB’s newest Instagram post described the silence as “sadness” and not “absence”. It also described how 4 June turned out to be a dark day for everyone who was associated with the franchise. RCB had previously announced a reimbursement of INR 10 Lakh for the families of the deceased. Now they have launched the ‘RCB Cares’ fund to help wounded supporters and to offer help with medical facilities.

The accident was linked to poor crowd management, with the entire franchise that came under the scanner. The state governance laid the total responsibility for the incident on the franchise. This development had further fueled public indignation. Immediately after the tragedy, the franchise had issued a short statement of condolence.

Speaking of the game two days prior to the Stampede, Rajat Patidar & Co. succeeded in getting their first title after a long wait of 18 seasons while they defeated Punjab Kings in the Narendra Modi Stadium with six points.

Nasleep of the tragedy

The heartbreaking incident created more than the chaos atmosphere, because the upcoming world cup competitions have been planned in the Chinnaswamy Stadium to the Dy Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. For that, the Maharaja Trophy tournament was moved to MySuru, because the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) could not get the necessary approvals from the Bengaluru police.

Rather an investigation by a Commission with one member the Chinnaswamy “unsafe” considered to organize large -scale events. As it looks now, Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium has not organized a big cricket since 17 May.
