Shohei Ohtani spent a season-high nine in five innings for his first victory for the Dodgers when Los Angeles defeated Cincinnati 5-1 on Wednesday evening to become the first team throughout MLB to wipe the Reds this season.
The Dodgers won their fourth consecutive match and extended their NL West to two games about San Diego, who lost 4-3 in Seattle. The victory also catapulted the Dodgers in the second seed in the National League about the Philadelphia Phillies with 28 games that are over the season.
Ohtani (1-1) bounced back against the Reds in his 11th start of the season and first in which he went the at least five innings to be eligible for a victory. The victory was his first since August 9, 2023, with the angels against San Francisco.
