Grove city, oh – She Isafirewoman (Catch the fire) Want to stay perfect in the Ohio Sires Stakes of this year while the first -year Merrieveeulen Pacers go to MGM Northfield Park on Saturday (August 9) for the third stage.
Northfield organizes two $ 65,000 divisions of 2-year-old Merrieveeulen and three $ 50,000 divisions of first-year Colt Pacers in their third stage of the Oss as part of a big night of racing on Saturday. The 16-Race card also includes the $ 300,000 Carl Milstein Memorial, the $ 100,000 Tom Aldrich President’s Trot, the $ 100,000 Myron Charna President’s Pace and two $ 65,000 divisions each of the fourth stage of the Oss for Second Merrieve Forns and Colt Trotters.
She’Safirewoman opened as the heavy 4-5 favorite in the second division of Merrieveeulen in the Oss and departs from post three. The Catch The Fire Filly won its division in the opening leg in Northfield in 1: 54.3 and placed a lifelong-best 1: 51.4 in her victory in the second row at Eldorado Scioto Downs. Luke Hanners was in the Sulky for each of those victories and returns for Saturday’s race. She’Safirewoman hit the board this season with four wins and one second place. She is owned by Harry Horowitz. Rodeo Dancer (Brett Miller) is the 4-1 second choice in the division and departs from the rail. The trainee of Steve Bauder was the second place of She’Safirewoman in the first stage of the Oss and has one victory this season.
Shacarri (Chris Page), the second place of She’Safirewoman in the second stage, is the favorite in the morning lines in the first division. Trained by Ron Burke, the Summa Cum Laude Filly won twice this season in four starts, including a division of the Ohio State Fair Stakes at Scioto. In her other victory, she was the same as the Scioto-track record for 2-year-old Merrieveeulen Pacers, where she stumbled the thread in 1: 51.1 in her first career start on July 5. Zooom Call (Dan Noble) will leave the rail as the 5-2 second choice. The trainee of Steve Carter has a second and two -thirds in five seasonal starts.
Seaside Shuffle, which is 2-out-2 this year in the Oss, is not entered in the third stage. Instead, she is introduced to race in the second stage of $ 80,000 of the Kentucky Championship series for 2-year-old Merrieveeulen Pacers on the Red Mile on Sunday (August 10).
The third part of the Oss for first -year Colt Pacers will also be disputed in Northfield on Saturday. However, only one leg has been completed, because the second stage, originally planned for July 26 at Scioto, was postponed until August 30.
Three of the four winners from the first stage will be entered in the third stage, two of which – Swels and Illbetyour boots – are in a charged second division. I’llbetyourboots (page) was opened as the 8-5 favorite and departs from Post Five in addition to 4-1 third choice Swelce (Mike Wilder) in Post Four. Trained by Burke, Illbetyour Boots, the board has hit all four seasonal starts with three victories. In addition to his OSS victory in 1:54 at Northfield, he won his division of the next generation at Scioto in a lifelong 1:52. The Summa Cum Laude Ruin has a win of $ 104,906. Heerz Corinthian (Aaron Merriman) will leave three three as the 7-2 second choice. The trainee of Jessica McCown is a double winner this season in the Buckeye Stallion series. Swelce, the second place in the next generation, won his division in the first stage of the Oss in a lifelong 1:55. The trainee of Jeff Nisoner has two wins and two seconds in five starts. Gentleman’s Club has two victories this season, including a lifelong-best 1: 54.3 in the opening leg of the Oss. The Downbytheside foal is trained by Aaron Lambert. Crocodile Station comes from an Ohio State Fair -victory in 1: 52.3 and marks the first career -victory for the Michael Hitchcock -Stagee.
The chances of sugar (Dexter Dunn) is the early 5-2 favorite in the third division and leaves from the far outside. The trainee of Virgil Morgan Jr. Has one win and one second in four starts this season. Caillou Hanover (Noble) is the 7-2 second choice.
The first race time of Saturday in MGM Northfield Park is 6 pm
