Nowadays, life looks a bit different for eight-year-old PGA Tour veteran Hudson Swafford.

The 37-year-old achieved three victories on the PGA Tour between 2017 and 2022 before he came to Liv Golf, but he has been struggling with injuries in recent years. Swafford is not even playing competitive at the moment. Instead, he works in Multifamily Real Estate.

“I had been in a pretty bad place with golf, so doing something new is very refreshing,” said Swafford hosts Kolt Knost and Drew Stoltz during this week’s episode.

Yet Swafford said that he would not completely exclude a comeback to professional wave, although he admits that the road is at the moment ‘blurry’. The reason? Swafford was relegated from Liv last year after participating in three seasons, and says that he is currently in the middle of a five -year suspension from the PGA Tour.

“I had some good back and forth with the PGA Tour, but then something Wishy-Washy,” said Swafford. “It is still not set in stone. I know they have been set up until ’27, which I know they base on a few contracts of a few people who are after the season ’26, so then they can change rules in favor of anyone who returns.

“I know some guys who had no status,” he continued. “And, you know, it’s a difficult, not PGA-Tour-Gesanctional events, but then you can come back and play.”

Swafford said he wonders what his game schedule would even look like if he returned to the Tour in 2027, given the number of events with reduced field that now populates the schedule.

“I would continue and bet and say that the category for the past champions is almost done in the future after this year,” he said. “I mean, we can agree or disagree, but it seems so normal. And they told me that. So I mean, I think you can sign up for qualifications on Monday, but actually I would actually be suspended to Q-School of ’27.”

Why was Swafford beaten with a five -year suspension? He said it is because in 2022 he played five LIV golf events during the PGA Tour season for which he could not get media releases.

“So they give me a year for each of that and it was the same as ’27,” said Swafford.

When contacted for comments and/or clarification about the claims of Swafford, a Tour Review answered: “The Tour does not comment on disciplinary matters.”
