Shashi Tharoor Slams Kerala’s “misplaced generosity” for Turkey, CPM responds

Shashi Tharoor of the Congress, which is also part of the international outreach of the center on Operation Sindoor, has beaten the Kerala government on its help to Turkey during the 2023 earthquake, indicating the support of Ankara to Islamabad in the uprising against India.

Placing a news item about the RS 10 Crore assistance from Kerala on Turkey on X, Mr Tharoor said that the left democratic frontruting “should think about her misguided generosity”.

“I hope that Kerala’s government thinks about the misplaced generosity, after having seen the behavior of Turkey two years later! Not to mention the fact that the people of Wayanad (just to take one Kerala example) that could have used ten crores much better,” his Post reads.

John Brittas from CPM responded immediately and said why Mr Tharoor Kerala questioned when the central government had extended a helping hand to Turkey and had attributed it to “selective memory loss”.
