Batavia, NY -The New York Sire Stakes visited Night Batavia Downs on Wednesday (August 27) with nine 2-year-old traven fillies who compete for a $ 112,100 wallet and the heavy favorite Sharp Seven (Chapter Seven-Wookin ‘Sharp) cut in the chase for her victory in the recommended Harnasracing event.
Jeff Gregory arranged Seven in the fourth as Storybook Love (Todd Ratchford) Early Fractions of: 28.4 and: 59.2. While the race passed the stands, Gregory Sharp Seven tapped and went step by step to the leader, eventually in three -quarters to the leader. StoryBook Love maintained her advantage around the last turn, but when they found themselves straightforward, Sharp Seven found open terrain in the middle of the racing track and trotted home under a line drive to win with 1½ length in 1:59.

Based on her third victory of the year, Sharp Seven ($ 2.30) went more than $ 200,000 lifespan, now with $ 205,250 on her map for owner Haze Stable and trainer George Ducharme.

In overnight action in Batavia, Brett Beckwith had the hot hands on the lines when he registered a Grand Slam at night. He won with Rampo CCL (1: 56.4, $ 9.80), Samosa Hanover (1: 58.2, $ 3.10), Ellas Reason A (1: 57.1, $ 4.70) and Alwaysanun (1: 57.4, $ 8.10). And trainers Brett Derrue and Candace Brandstatter-Hall each scored two victories each.
