‘Shame on you’ – Former Indian cricketer slams social media user for misquoting comments against Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar | CricTracker

Cricketer turned commentator Navjot Sidhu has blasted a social media user for misquoting him. Sidhu refuted the claim that he had made the comments attributed to him about Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar, the head coach and BCCI’s selection committee chairman, respectively.

For those unfamiliar, an India to win the 2027 World Cup.

It is believed that the user has completely deleted his comment and account. Sidhu’s post is gaining huge attention on social media. There were several comments condemning the X user for spreading fabricated information.

Sidhu was known as a fierce critic of the Indian cricket team in the past. He has made many strong comments against management and players before. However, his analyzes were more often than not constructive criticism. Recently, he hailed the legacy of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as as everlasting as the Himalayas.

Meanwhile, Gambhir came in as Rahul Dravid’s successor. The early stages of his coaching stint were plagued by humiliating losses to New Zealand (3-0 at home in 2024) and Australia (3-1 in the 2025 Border-Gavaskar Trophy). However, he redeemed himself as India emerged victorious in the Champions Trophy and Asia Cup champions (both this year).

India are currently in Australia for an eight-match white-ball series. The Men in Blue lost the series-opening ODI by seven wickets via the DLS method in Perth as both Rohit and Kohli, who returned from a long break, endured disappointing outings while his bowling also fell short. The second ODI of the series will be played in Adelaide on October 23.
