When giving advice on protein intake that is linked to exercise, the nutritionist Bethan Crouse says: “If you are just an informal gym that does resistance training three to four times a week”, is it true that … your protein must eat immediately after exercise?, 1 September). I was surprised that this training was described as casual. I would like to propose that the other 99.9% of non-elite people would regularly consider this level of dedication, I even dare to say seriously.

It is clear that Neither Richard Tice neither believes nor the free speech, nor the Christian Gospel understands, because he thinks the archbishop of York should not “disrupt the international migration policy” (Richard Tice refers to C van E criticism of reform migration policy, August 31). There is no justification for flying Adam Zampa from Australia to deliver 20 balls in the hundred final at Lord’s (report, August 31). What a sad indictment of our cricket standing that we have to fly someone halfway through the world for such a ridiculous contribution to a large home tournament.

When the V&A returned, I was surprised to read that according to two scholars there was no place in the beginning of the 20th century as Palestine (Letters, August 28). This would have come a surprise for my grandfather, who in 1918 sent beautiful locally made gifts and postcards to my grandmother and gave his address as Palestine. He died too young and I never met him, but I think he might be shocked about the current attempts to eradicate that country, and even history.
