Seoul Saturday: race-by-race preview (November 22)

Saturday’s race is in Seoul with 11 races from 10:35 AM to 6:00 PM. Here are the previews:

Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A/KRW 45 million

Junior mare girls with seven of the twelve racing for the first time. Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A/KRW 45 million

Youth girls with four of the eleven racing for the first time. Experience gets it with (9) CHONGSAN MUSA, who ran 2^i.e upon debut over 1000M on October 25^ewhich can be seen everywhere at pace. He should have come in for that run, the extra distance shouldn’t cause any problems and he can win. (8) REFLECT as the greatest danger. After performing 5^e on his debut he was an improved 3^rd at the start of number two over this distance on October 19^ewho comes from well off the pace and he can challenge strongly here late. (5) FANTASTIC BRO and (3) BLACK KINGDOM both hinted at their skills in their respective debuts and can improve here. Among the debutants, (2) ROAD TO HEAT seems to be the best choice.

Seoul Race 3: Class 4 (1200M) Special Weight A/KRW 75 million

Imported juvenile girls with seven of the twelve racing for the first time and we take a chance on a newcomer with (4) JEONGSANG HERO. The Beau Liam foal completed two tests and improved in the second by performing 2^i.e in good time and at pace. He is drawing nicely and if he can bring that form to the races, he will be the first to get every chance. (3) HIGH MOUNTAIN came off the pace and ran 4^e upon debut over 1000 million on October 25^edefeating a number of contemporary rivals. He should have come running, the step up can fit into the trip, and he can be a big threat. (1) JJARITHAN HAENGBOK is a Maximus Mischief colt who passed two trials, setting a fast time in both and coming out of a wide gate to run 2^i.e in the latest of them. He’s another one to keep an eye on first. (2) WHIZ FIGHTER and (12) MJ CLASS both showed skills in their debuts and can improve.

Seoul Race 4: Class 6 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 30 million

Regular girl here and (3) RAON FINALE is the one to beat. She has run 3^rd in both so far she starts in the 1000M and 1200M, racing both skilfully and not quickly. Third, she can perform at the top in terms of fitness, the extra trip can be suitable and she can win. The danger is (10) MIGHTY BEAT. Today could be the day. (7) SONGDANG HWANGTAEJA remains a virgin after eleven attempts, but has qualified no fewer than seven times, five of which over this distance. She raced at speed in both and if she can get ahead again, she can go a long way with this. (4) RISING MO and (3) KYLIE and many others in good recent form.

Seoul Race 8: Handicap Class 4 (1700M) / KRW 60 million

(4) GRACE ROUTE has a 4^e and a 3^rd of her last two, both in this class above 1400M. She has placed at this distance before and is tactically versatile and in a competitive race she has as much of a chance as anyone. (1) BLOOD MOUNTAIN doesn’t win easily, but recent form reads well, especially his last start 2^i.e place in this class above 1800M while racing anywhere. He pulls the same inside gate, and he has to be on pace and can go a long way in this. (3) GEUMAK MYEONGJANG was class and distance winner in August and comes in a smart second place over a mile. He is also a player who can challenge for a prominent early position and finish. (10) CHEONGUNG STORM and (11) HIGH FOLLY are other contenders for the spot.

Seoul Race 9: Handicap Class 4 (1800M) / KRW 60 million

(4) CHUKBAEREUL DEULEORA was a winner in this class over 1700M, two starts back before running 4^e at this distance on October 19^eafter drawing the widest gate. He pulls much better this time and has winning claims in a competitive race. (7) HEUNGHAENG DOLPUNG has won both of his last two, most recently on his first attempt at this distance on October 25^ewhen he led from gate to wire. That puts him quickly up the rankings, but two innings seem to have shaped him and a hat trick is not impossible under a low weight. (8) NASSAU CHAT defeated Chukbaereul Deuleora and a few others who return here as 2^i.e on that October 19th^e racing and being able to stand at the finish line again. (6) BYEOLKONG and (3) BEAUTIFUL MONEY are the other main opportunities.

Seoul Race 10: Handicap Class 3 (1400M) / KRW 75 million

(6) WONDERFUL LORD has won two of his last three, while the other is a close 2^i.eall at this distance. He comes into class today but has lost 3.5kg and is looking good to keep his run going. (4) ONEULDO SMILE won her first four races before completing 2^i.e in the Korean Oaks on May and 3^rd at the Gyeonggi Governor’s Cup in June, after leading in both races. She hasn’t raced since and she didn’t give much guidance at a trial a few weeks ago, but she certainly has a lot of skills and while she may need it, she could be a threat first and foremost. (8) YONGBI TAEYANG has won his last two, both at 1400M and is among the best in his class. He won’t get a weight break, but he can measure up. (10) GOLDEN DRAGON and (5) KN GOLDEN KING are other chances.

Seoul Race 11: Handicap Class 2 (1400M) / KRW 90 million

(5) SHADOW HUNTER has placed in all five of his starts since his last win. He has the form to beat a few here, but he is extremely consistent, he likes to race at pace and from a good draw he can defy the 58kg he carries. (3) CAPTAIN PK was having an ordinary day at the office when he was last well supported on October 25^e racing in midfield and finishing 5th^e.
