Seoul Saturday: race-by-race preview (December 6)

After temperatures drop mid-week, the weekend will be milder with racing in Seoul on Saturday with 11 races from 10:35am to 6pm. Here are the previews:

Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A/KRW 45 million

Youth girls. (3) WORLD VICS Robbery 2^i.e over 1000 million upon debut on October 18^e has led most of the way. She should have gone along for that run, Maia continues to climb and makes good progress to get back to the front, she can completely join us. (6) JONGSANG HERA has a 2^i.e and a 4^e from two starts so far, the last at this distance if she is on hand all Third up, she may have a fitness edge on some of these and is a great danger and will be favourite. (9) HWANG GEUM EO JANG was, to say the least, striking in his test and scored by fourteen lengths. If he brings that form to the races, he will win. (7) COWBOY SOCKS was quite green on debut, but still managed 4^e place more than 1000M. Since then he has been on trial again and can match or better today. (8) AMOS STAR came from well off the pace for 6^e last time and Moon Se-young’s booking will attract many visitors.

Seoul Race 2: Class 4 (1200M) Special Weight A/KRW 75 Million

Imported girls. (4) GEUMA SPLASHY ran 2^i.e on debut at this distance and then became 3^rd at the start of number two over 1000M on October 25^e with three of the current rivals behind him. He has a good draw to take the lead here and has as much of a chance as anyone. (1) MUCHO MACHO RAPIDO was the winner of the entire test on November 13^e. He is pulling nicely into the lead and if he brings that form to the races, he can be at the finish. (5) HIGH MOUNTAIN has run 4^e in both so far starts at 1000M and 1200M and comes off pace both times. He seems to have plenty of room for more improvement, and he can be a danger. (6) PASA SPURT was an improved 2^i.e at the start of number two of this trip on November 8^e and he too could be in the mix here. (8) VICTORY SOCKS another who can improve.

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A/KRW 30 million

Only mares. (6) GEOLJAK TIARA has a 2^i.e and a 3^rd inside of her two attempts from 1200 meters, both times handy. In this company she will stay on pace, Maia will stay on and she will be able to take a beating. (8) WILD MAGIC was 3^rd on her debut at this distance before moving up to 1700M for her second outing on November 2^i.e. She should feel more comfortable during the journey and compete from the start. Those two top most quinellas because the shape falls away quickly. (2) BEAUTIFUL TUNE UP was just in her last pair, but does have a pair of 4^e places on her record and that’s enough to put her in the mix here. (1) ROAD TO SPEAR and (10) DALBIT SONATA are others in the placement frame.

Seoul Race 4: Class 6 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 30 million

(4) SANGIM YEONGUNG has a 3^rd and a 2^i.e from two starts to date, most recently over this distance on November 1^st when you slow down and drive vigorously. He has a lot of weight to carry here, but at third down he can peak and go one step further. (11) CHOCOLATE has shown steady progress through three starts so far, culminating in three^rd took place on his first attempt at this distance on October 25^e. Given his racing style so far, the widest gate shouldn’t be a problem, and he could be a danger. (7) GEOMEUN SUP has also raced three times and shown some 4. skill with two^e place ends. He reaches 1400 meters for the first time, but without early speed in this race he can easily run into the lead and go a long way. Debut maker (2) MET DORTIE hinted that he has two tests four months apart and can make a first impression through a good draw. (6) K SIMON another one hunting.

Seoul Race 5: Handicap Class 5 (1400M) / KRW 45 million

(2) CONCORD CODIE was the first winner at start three over the 1200 meters and he stood out coming from midfield to win by as many as four lengths. He’s higher in class and distance here, but neither should be a problem and he can repeat. (11) DONGGANGUI STAR also achieved his first win at 1200M before running 6^e of twelve in a listed youth company in October. He was disappointing on his last attempt, his first attempt at this distance on November 15^ebut clearly has the ability and is worth another shot here. (5) SUN GALLANT is yet to win at twenty-five but is top of his class after two placings from his last three. Both were on this trip and the weight drop he gets should make him competitive here. (4) APPLE STYLE and (7) ALIFER are others to consider.

Seoul Race 6: Handicap Class 5 (1200M) / KRW 45 million

(5) RAON FLORENCE still needs to win in four, but also needs to break out of the top three. He has a 2^i.e and a 3^rd from two attempts in this class, both at this distance, and from a good draw, he can get back on pace and reach the finish. (3) CHEONMAHORYEONG was a class and distance winner on November 9^eleading all the way around. She weighs only 2 kg and is well marked, she can repeat this. (9) FLASH MOVE is one for one and has won her only race to date over this distance. That was already a filly in July, but she looked good enough on a course a month ago and could be the first in the mix. (4) MUNHAK FIGHTER and winner of the last start in the class (8) SMART MARU are others to watch out for.

Seoul Race 7: Handicap Class 5 (1300M) / KRW 45 million

(9) DI NE was a solid 6^e of thirteen in a listed youth company at start two, before emphatically taking his first victory on October 19^e more than 1200 million if he was completely ahead and won by as much as he wanted. He is higher up in his class and slightly in the trip, but is lighter in weight and the way he is winning suggests there is more to come. (4) J ONE POWER and (2) ANYANG TSUNAMI came home 3^rd and 4^e respectively when they played each other in this class and distance on November 1^st. The former enters a better gate and is again the favorite of the pair, but can participate in the finish. (6) COSMO KING and (5) HAEMAJI are others that can be considered on a place line.

Seoul Race 8: Handicap Class 4 (1700M) / KRW 60 million

(7) GWANAKSAN WONDERFUL has five top three finishes from seven starts and two wins, both in the 1400M, including his last on November 1^st when he was handy all the time. He is in class today and is doing two turns for the first time, but he has lost 3 kg and he can easily measure up. (10) GOLD CATCHER was the winner in this class over one mile in September and came in a close 2nd place^i.e took place on his first attempt at this distance on November 15^e when you lead a large part of the route. He has the challenge of a wide draw and a slightly higher weight, but should be a big player again. (2) HAKSAN CAIRO has yet to win in fifteen, but has never finished worse than 6^e and should be close again on its first turn around two turns. (8) LEGEND WOW and (1) GROW others during the hunt.

Seoul Race 9: Handicap Class 4 (1400M) / KRW 60 million

(9) PERFECT DANAEUN took seven tries to get his first win, but apparently enjoyed it as he promptly won two more times, most recently on November 1^st more than 1300M if you are completely ahead. He is higher in class, but has lost 3 kg. Maia is present for the first time and he can continue his merry way. If it has reached its peak, (5) TAPDINE can benefit from this. Already a two-time winner on this trip, he is beautifully marked and lightweight, this is the kind of race he can be good at. (8) WHIZ WIN tops its class and distance after a maiden 1200M win on November 8^e and he can measure up in this company. (11) RAON NOTHERN DANCE and (4) GEOSEN POKJU others to consider on a place line.

Seoul Race 10: Handicap Class 3 (1800M) / KRW 75 million

(1) DAESEONG STAR was class and distance winner on November 2^i.ecoming from just off the pace to score. He is 4kg heavier, but Moon Se-young, who has ridden him to all four of his wins, stays on and they can score again. (5) MUSKET DAY is a five out of ten winner, including over a mile in this class two outings back. He comes in after a 3^rd place in this class and distance on October 25^e and can get closer here. He must complete the form on (9) REMEMBER AGAIN who was 2^i.e on October 25th^e race, after leading much of the way. He has the challenge of more weight and a wider gate, but he can be dangerous again. (11) DRAGON FANTASY, up in class after three straight wins, and (6) GEOSEN GANGHO are the other top odds.

Seoul Race 11: Handicap Class 3 (1400M) / KRW 75 million

(3) CAPTAIN TIME led from gate to wire to win in this class and distance on November 2^i.egiving it seven top three finishes from eight attempts in the 1400M. He has another 2kg to carry, but that’s a great draw, and he can win again. (7) MIGHTY SHONE doesn’t win out of turn, but rarely runs a bad race and comes out 2^i.e and 3^rd in this class and distance to her last two. She has the fastest time of these for the distance, and she can be a danger late. (10) DANCING WHIZ returned after over seven months off for run 5^e from eleven above 1200 million on November 1^st. He should get fitter for that run and get close. (11) CHOEGO GAME and (8) EAST GANGEOK are other place odds.
