The Silent Island
We take the flight to Jeju Island. A small island only one h south of Seoul. Here are cattle management and the Mandarin cultivation in Focus, but in recent years the island has also distinguished itself for its calm recreation. Here nature extends green over the ground surface between high mountains and waterfalls.
Mountain that ends straight in the ocean
Sparkling crops that love the sulfur -rich soil.
We have rented a car and ride on the small roads between the fields and simple small houses and land in the middle of a citrus cultivation. The gates open for the Oasis Batdam houseBatdam House. We are greeted by Still Music and the sound of dull bell.
The rooms breathe that I absolutely love. The low Asian aesthetics and simplicity that creates a place in the head for other than plot impressions. So low -key and clean.
You can stay infinite here. The plot is three small houses, one of which is a small spa with its own swimming pool and a view of the low citrus trees.
The idea for this small retreat is to sink humbly in the warm temperature in the indoor swimming pool after the cooling tip outside and enjoy for a while in the sauna and finish by illuminating the incense and performing the thermitual.

We can stay here forever. We almost whisper each other, so it is.
The weather is not really with us, but we have to explore the island. We decide to go to the east side of the island and the beautiful thing in this stay is that it only takes about 4 hours to ride around the entire island. So we can see almost everything we want to see.
We have a goal. To experience ‘Haenyeo Women’ up close. A thousand -year -old tradition in which women still dive freely for all fruits of the sea and their families. Read about this here
Volcano Seongsan Ilchulbong (also called sunrise peak) encloses the small bay where the women have their workstation. So powerful vision that the eyes are torn apart.
We have lunch in a typical local fish restaurant and although we are going up in a sense, we feel so lost. Here you take off your shoes and it’s hard to try to understand yourself. The Octopus stew can probably be the best we have ever eaten.
A stop for coffee and pastries on Costeno .
Incredible salt -cute flavors on these pastries and a match with pure chocolate. Feeling!
We experience the waterfalls, nature and the small paths to the sea.
Jeju. Was a bit in love with you. I’m coming back. Now we go to Busan.
