The third Friday in January is definitely a slow Friday. I woke up tired and then it continued in the same vein. I’ve been busy all day, but it feels like I’ve done exactly zero? After publishing this Friday five, I can check off at least one small item from today’s list. Keep credit!
A fifth Friday in January
#1. Flight radar24
After two successful weeks on Koh Lanta in Thailand, our fifteen-year-old is finally back home! Last night I sat down and clicked through Flight radar24 between rounds…
…to follow her (and the plane’s) route through the world. It’s a sickening feeling to click on the site and see all the shuttle traffic on the “highways” up there in the sky. I had a lot of travel fever from her both before the trip there and home, but in the end everything went well. Usually yes!
#2. Siblings are the best, no objection!
This past week I had not one, but two siblings visit. That’s a very good (and unusual) frequency, considering my closest sibling lives about 50 miles away.

Last weekend, older brother and parts of the family came over. In the tailgate of the white “Party Bus” there was a whole heap of birch wood for me – wood that I now gratefully and reverently load into the stove every evening. A few days later the older sister came by, in the middle of an intensive work period. When I got home, dinner was ready on the counter and I could once again say that my brothers and sisters are the best. There is zero and no protest about that thing!
#3. Stop bye
Last Friday, i.e. the second Friday of January, the “Quit Day” took place according to tradition (National Quitters Day). According to statistics, this is the day when the vast majority abandon their New Year’s resolutions. You might guess that it’s mainly about training.

Today we have reached the third day of January and I can really feel the motivation fading day by day. Mostly it probably depends on the weather in general? But I struggle, I do. Padel, cycling and strength training are the trio that I currently prefer to do.
#4. The search for the perfect lemon yoghurt
I am CONSTANTLY looking for The Perfect Lemon Yoghurt – regardless of whether I am in Sweden or abroad. I found the best one so far, at least in life, in France.

Here in Sweden it’s slower, even though I test as many as I can. The favorite so far is Valios lactosfria variant. It tastes a bit like melted lemon ice cream, with a slightly raspy and “deep” flavor.
#5. Poor little world!
Sometimes I open the computer to write a longer post about my feelings about the current situation in the world. I always end it with a sigh. Because what can actually be said about today’s world? About the leaders? About the madness and obsession with power. About evil and greed. About laziness, rudeness and unwillingness to understand each other. We have never been so ‘enlightened’, so well educated and so well ordered – and yet it seems that way? Poor little world!
And with the happy ending, I take this opportunity to wish you a nice weekend. Things will get better soon, right?
