Sean O’Malley is open to next fight against Cory Sandhagen. However, ‘Suga’ has a specific condition in mind, and the promotion must agree to it before the match can be made.

Last weekend at UFC 324, O’Malley returned to his winning ways, snapping his two-fight losing skid by riding to a controversial unanimous decision victory against Song Yadong.

O’Malley showed it interest in reversing it with current and two-time bantamweight champion Petr Yan. However, ‘No Mercy’ will most likely meet Merab Dvalishvili in the coming months to complete their currently tied trilogy.

In the meantime, O’Malley has now expressed interest in taking on former title challenger Cory Sandhagen, who last fought at UFC 320 against then-champ Merab Dvalishvili and lost by unanimous decision.

On The Ariel Helwani Showthe former champion said he will only accept the Sandhagen matchup if the promotion offers him a title fight-level reward.

“I want to fight for the title [next]or pay me the same amount I would get for a title fight, and I will fight Cory [Sandhagen]. For me, this has been a business from the start. Since day one, I wanted to make as much money as possible… At the end of the day, the UFC tells you what to do.”

O’Malley vs. Sandhagen is a fight that fans have been eager to see, with the latter also recently calling out ‘Suga’ as he looks to climb the bantamweight mountain again following the setback of UFC 320.

Sean O’Malley has two fights left on his contract

Sean O’Malley wants to make the ‘Suga’ brand bigger and better, now that the UFC has signed a seven-year, $7.7 billion deal with Paramount. O’Malley revealed to Ariel Helwani that he has two fights left on his contract, and for his next fight he will renegotiate as he is confident that the promotion will take care of him and give him the best as always. He said:

“I think I have two fights left. UFC doesn’t really like when fighters fight out their contracts because then you become a free agent. I feel like I’ll probably renegotiate for my next fight. UFC always takes care of me; they’ve been really good to me.”
