Former UFC Bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley believes that Ilia Topuria has already cemented herself as the greatest hunter in the MMA history.
For a loss for Merab Dvalishvili on UFC 306, Sean O’Malley Ilia Topuria had in his sights for a potential collision in the Achthoek. At the time, O’Malley was the Bantamweight champion of the UFC, while Topuria Alexander Volkanovski eliminated to become the UFC -Verege Title Holder.
Topuria has since eliminated Max Holloway (his lonely featherweight defending defense) and Charles Oliveira to become the newest second division champion of the UFC. He is expected to return to the Octagon in the coming months to make his first lightweight title defense.
Topuria’s meteoric rise will be in the UFC history forever. But despite his relatively small sample in the Octagon, Topuria is Al O’Malley’s UFC -goat choice, about Jon Jones and other legends.

During a recent video it was uploaded to his YouTube Channel, O’Malley weighed next year on a potential superfight between McGregor and Topuria in the White House and made a daring claim about the UFC Lightweight Champ.
“Ilia vs. conor, f – it! You want a big fight? Conor now has no big series, in his last five, but if you want to get rid of – – main event in the White House?” Said O’Malley.
‘But they are not American … I think Ilia could be that [beat him]You can never count Conor, but Ilia Topuria is the greatest hunter, to ever walk on this earth. Biggest hunter, pound-for-pound, ever. Even about [Jon Jones]. His last three fights, Ko’s Volkanovski, Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira.
“He does not beat these guys by decision, does not take them down and holds them, he hits them. It is f – – sweet.”
The knockout of Topuria wins on Volkanovski, Holloway and Oliveira are perhaps the largest three-fight stretch in UFC history. Jon Jones, who retired earlier this year, is a common choice as the largest UFC hunter of all time.
After O’Malley’s Topuria callout remained unanswered, the former UFC Bantamweight Champion remains awe for the performance of the Spanish star.
