UFC star Sean O’Malley has said he believes he is entering the second chapter of his mixed martial arts career as he prepares for his return to the cage at UFC 324.
At UFC 324 next weekend, Sean O’Malley will make his first appearance since his second straight loss to Merab Dvalishvili. When he does, he will battle Song Yadong, and it certainly seems like his goal is to return to another world title. Some felt he would be better off moving up to featherweight, but for now the 31-year-old is sticking with it at 135 pounds as he tries to prove he is still a legitimate championship contender.
Sean O’Malley’s striking ability has never been in doubt and we think this will be put to the test against Song. There’s always the chance that there will be some wrestling, with Sean clearly preparing for that in the footage we’ll attach below, but at the same time ‘Suga’ knows what the fans want to see, and this is the kind of fight that could really give him a chance to shine on the big stage.

“It feels like this is the second chapter. You know, the champion mentality has never gone away. It’s the same mentality, the only thing that’s different is 15 minutes instead of 25 minutes. I’m going to go in there, put on an absolute clinic and go straight back to the title.”
O’Malley knows there’s a lot at stake here, and if he can go in there and secure a big finish, who knows, he might be discussed as a possible option to face Petr Yan for the title later this year. If he does, the word “White House” will be all over his name, especially since Sean has a 1-0 record over Yan.
