Sean “Diddy” Combs has been cleared in a federal New York Court of Sex Trafficking and Racketeering declarations that could have placed him for life behind bars, but was found guilty of lesser prostitution-related offenses.
The verdict is a partial victory for combs, a former rapper and music mogul, and a blow to public prosecutors who said that Combs used “violence and fear” to abuse women.
The 12-person jury unanimously condemned him about two transport counts to enter into prostitution, but kept combing racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trade two of his former romantic partners: the rhythm and blues singer Casandra “Ventura and a woman known in Jane’s court.
After the judge had rejected the jury and lawyers for both parties, combs knelt in front of his chair and seemed to pray. Combs then got up and faced the courtroom gallery.
“I’ll be home soon,” he said smiling and his hands bold. “I love you. Thank you, I love you. “
Combs’ family and supporters burst into applause and cheers.

On Thursday Aest, the bid of Combs to be released from prison prior to his conviction was rejected when the American district judge Arun Subramanian denied him bail.

Combs, 55, who was not guilty for all five counts, stands for a maximum prison sentence of 10 years on each of the two prostitution.

Officers of Justice recognized in a court who submitted that federal guidelines for conviction seemed to recommend a maximum punishment of about half of that time. Combs lawyers argued that two years would be the outer limit.
The process was aimed at the allegations of public prosecutors that Combs used his business empire for two decades to force Ventura and Jane to participate in drug-oriented, days-long sexual performance that are sometimes called ‘freak-offs’ with male sex workers in hotel rooms while combs watched.

Prosecutors have argued in vain that the behavior of combs towards both women came down on sex trade because he forced Ventura and Jane to participate in the performances using physical violence and threats to hold financial support or to leak sexually explicit images of them.

Acquittal on three charges

The acquittal of the jury about the most serious charges indicates that the prosecution had not drawn a direct line between the abuse of combs of Ventura and Jane and their participation in sexual performance.

The defense recognized combs that deal with domestic violence, but argued that Ventura and Jane participated consensual in the sexual designs because they wanted to please Combs.

Defense Lawyers accused officers of trying to criminalize the private sex life of Combs.

The founder of Bad Boy Records could have experienced life in prison if he was convicted of sex trade or conspiracy of racketeering.
Combs, once famous for organizing lush parties for the cultural elite in luxurious locations such as the Hamptons and Saint-Tropez, has been held in Federal Lockup in Brooklyn since his arrest.
In a statement after the verdict, the office of the American lawyers of Manhattan, which brought the case, said sex crimes “all too present” throughout society.
With the criminal trial, Combs is still confronted with dozens of civil lawsuits that accuse him of abuse.
Ventura sued him for sex trade in November 2023 and they settled one day later for US $ 20 million ($ 30 million).
Combs, once known for changing artists as infamous large and insuring stars, has denied all misconduct.
After the verdict, Ventura’s lawyer said in a statement that she “had” the way “for the conviction of combs.
