The secret can finally be revealed! Hometown heroes The Screaming Jets return to the Steel City on December 5 to headline the TAB Carnival of Cups on-track entertainment at Newcastle Harness Racing Club.
It marks a return to the Carnival of Cups stage for the Jets, who bounced racegoers with a powerful set in Season 1 in Goulburn.
It is the first time the new music festival format has been held in Newcastle since it was revamped two years ago. And best of all, tickets are free for everyone.
The Screaming Jets will headline an eclectic line-up, along with multiple ARIA award-winning Male Artist of the Year Alex Lloyd and reigning Female Golden Guitar Artist of the Year Max Jackson. Local favorites Insignia and Just Us Duo are also on the programme.
“We are thrilled to be part of the Carnival of Cups program again and it is even more special for us as a Newcastle band to be able to come home and be part of this new era of racing in our own backyard,” said Dave Gleeson, lead singer of The Screaming Jets.
“We have never forgotten where we come from and we are so grateful for the continued love and support we receive from the fans in Newcastle, so we will take to the stage and give them everything we have.”
“We had a great time in Goulburn and we know the Carnival of Cups has only gotten bigger and better since then, so we can’t wait to rock Newcastle!”
The trackside entertainment offering complements an eight-race program at the famous Newcastle Paceway.
It includes the first edition of the Steel City Cup and the crowning of the TAB Regional Championships Hunter Final champion.
“How great to add The Screaming Jets to an already high-quality music line-up featuring Alex Lloyd and Max Jackson. When it came to choosing a headline act for this first event in Newcastle, there was no doubt that we wanted it to be the Jets, so we’re delighted to be working together again,” said HRNSW Marketing Manager Paul Cochrane.
“There has already been a rush for tickets since we announced Alex and Max last month, so with the Jets thrown into the mix, I expect the ticket portal to become popular with this announcement.”
