Scott Parker Newcastle United press conference:
Scott Parker asked what he expects from Newcastle United?
“It’s a tough match.
“Especially away from home, against a very, very good team.
“Eddie did a fantastic job there, but as always we will be back.
“We are trying to do our best in this situation, but we are playing against a very good team.
“But hopefully we can cause problems for them too.”
Scott Parker on Martin Dubravka’s return to St James’ Park:
“I think he has quality, you have seen that.
“He has brought a wealth of experience to these moments, so that experience has been invaluable to me.
‘It’s just another person who saw it, did it, kind of grabbed the t-shirt,
“So he can mentor this young group, he can advise, he can support, he can manage this young group, so he’s been a big voice in that.”
Scott Parker on how his players are coping with the busy schedule:
“They are physically fine, they are tired of the game at the moment, they are extremely disappointed with last night’s result.
“We’ll just restart. After a match where emotions are high, we always have to sit and analyze things, but we’re back at it today and back to work and that’s what we’re doing.”
Scott Parker on losing five PL games in a row:
“I really feel like we are one result away from turning this tide.
“We were very close and had almost moments. These almost moments are something that we will have to solve.
“Games are not going to get away from us and we have been very competitive and stayed in the games.
“We just need a result and to continue the good things that are getting us those results.
“I am very calm and rational.
“The biggest task for me is to keep the players in that calm state of mind all the time.
“I really feel a real calm around the club.
“Keeping the players mentally focused was always going to be a main focus for me this year. My job is to keep things very stable and give the players confidence.”
