Scotland: goals in abundance in Lousada when Scotland men start with the victory

Scotland Men started a winning start on Eurohockey Championship II in Lousada with an 8-3 victory over Croatia.

It was Croatia who started the game quickly and took an early goal when they just found it with an almost -post -finish by Andrej Zidanic. 1-0.

Scotland quickly hit back via a low drag film by Struan Walker to be right on 1-1.

The blue sticks raised the pressure and it led them to a second goal. A rapid structure was finished by Rob Field in the middle of the circle with a powerful low effort for 2-1.

Very soon later and it was 3-1 thanks to a slick drag film by Jamie Golden to give the Scots a pillow of two goals at the end of the first quarter.

The target score of Scotland took place after the break. A blow went the way of the Scots and this was sent by Walker in the left corner to bring 4-1.

When half reached the end, the Scots in Cruise Control were with excellent property and midfield control. It felt like more goals would follow.

Goal number five for Scotland arrived early in the second half when Golden wiped home at the distant pole after a nice passing movement along the right side. 5-1.

The following two goals, however, went to Croatia and came on a fast fire fashion. A drag film thought the net of Josip Krleza with 5-2 before a powerful shot from the left made the 5-3, thanks to Mario Ilinovic.

Andy McConnell shot home from a penalty corner to restore an advantage of three goals to bring the score to 6-3.

Scotland looked comfortable in the last quarter and it went to 7-3 when Walker took his hat trick with an unmarked finish, before he fought a drag in the upper right corner for 8-3 and completed the victory.
