Once again we investigate what activity, if any, is taking place within Schrödinger’s portfolio. For new readers, the Schrodinger is a Robo Advisor portfolio or a portfolio managed by computer. The Schrodinger is housed at Schwab and is designated as an Intelligent Portfolio. Since the last review, the only change is the amount of cash available as third quarter dividends flowed into the portfolio.
Schrodinger asset allocation
Below, readers will find the current asset allocations for the Schrodinger. I made two requests to Schwab based on the ultra-high market.
- Remove the request to limit investments in developed and emerging markets. This will shift assets from US stocks to international stocks. This is exactly what Schwab wanted to do when I first set up the Schrodinger.
- Decrease the percentage allocated to stocks and increase the percentage allocated to low-volatility securities. Again, this was Schwab’s first piece of advice.

Schrodinger performance data
As of 12/31/2021, the Schrodinger has outperformed all benchmarks tracked here at ITA. This includes the S&P 500 (SPY). Beating the S&P 500 is a very high bar.
During the bad stock market of 2022, the Schrodinger’s owner benefited from dollar-cost averaging. The stocks purchased during that low period are now delivering significant growth.

Schrodinger risk ratios
Overall, the Schrödinger performs extremely well. Once we get past November 2024, the slope of the Jensen Performance Index will likely turn positive.
