Duke University Vice President, King-Componfon Families Director of Athletics Nina King Thursday announced that basketball head coach for men Jon Scheyer has agreed to a two-year contract extension until the 2030-31 season.

Scheyer, who completed his third season at the helm in 2024-25, has rapidly established himself among the sport’s premier coaches, guiding the Blue Devils to one of the most dominant campaigns in program history and the school’s 18th Final Four appearance, becoming the youngest head coach to reach the Final Four Since 2011. Under His Leadership, Duke Posted a 35-4 Overall Record, Captured Both The Acceg Regular-Season Championship (19-1) and the Acc tournament Title, and brought them to Nationale 1 for two weeks before he ended up no. 3 in the last APP poll.

With 89 victories in his first three seasons, he is bound by most victories by a Division I head coach over that period, in which Brad Stevens (Butler) and Brad Underwood (Stephen F. Austin) agree. Scheyer is also the winning head coach for three seasons in the history of Duke and has the best winning percentage of the program (.802) in that period.

The Blue Devils have been a statistical powerhouse led by Scheyer. Duke led the nation in scoring margin (+20.5) in 2024-25-the third best figure in the school history while he became the first team in the ACC history that led the conference in both scoring attack (83.2) and scoring defense (62.8). The team was also in the top 25 national in 13 categories, set the program record for assist-to-turnover Ratio (+1.82) and placed the second highest Kenpom Net Rating (39.29) since the site began to follow in 1996-97.

Scheyer, who was named the 2024-25 John McLendon National Coach of the Year, is the only head coach in ACC history who won two conference tournaments extraction in his first three seasons.
