Josh Sargent started the EFL season of 2025-26 with a strong note.

Sargent scored his second goal in as many starts as Norwich City Watford beat 2-1 in League Cup Play Tuesday. The American striker helped the Canary state to go to the second round with a road victory at Vicarage Road.

Sargent only needed 10 minutes to break the impasse, causing the Pape Diallo’s pass from Home Pape in the top left corner. It marked his 50th goal for the club in all matches, making him the sixth player in the history of Norwich City to reach that brand.
