William Land Golf Course’s annual Meet Santa event is bringing early Christmas cheer to good girls and boys
Santa Claus is no stranger to the William Land Golf Course! Each year, WLGC hosts Merry Christmas for an evening of holiday spirit, family-friendly activities and community support. This year the course partnered with the Land Park Community Association to bring Santa Claus to the course last Thursday, December 4.

That evening, families stopped at the cart shed to meet the great man himself. One by one, all the children sat in a golf cart with Santa to tell him what they wanted for Christmas and take pictures. Santa even had some helpers with him to give the children free putters after their talks!

Meeting Santa wasn’t the only thing you had to do that evening. Several craft stations were set up for the little ones to color and make their own decorations. Despite the cold weather, families gathered on the practice green where children could play with their brand new putters. Mulligan’s Cafe employees handed out hot chocolate and free food to everyone in attendance. The Sacramento Fire Department and Police Department even joined in on the festivities, complete with fire trucks and police cars for the kids and families to take photos with.

Finally, the evening was also an opportunity for the community to come together and support those in need. The Land Park Community Association accepted donations for the Sacramento Sheriff’s Toy Project. This annual program helps children in crisis by giving them a cuddly friend when they are involved in a PD encounter. At the end of the evening the donation box was full of toys!
Thank you to everyone who came by to celebrate the holidays. Happy holidays and we hope to be able to organize this event again next year!
