Legendary India National Cricket Team Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has chosen its India team for the Asia Cup 2025, which will be played from 9 to 28 September.
Surprisingly, Harbhajan Singh Sanju Samson did not pick in his India team for the Asia Cup 2025, but he gave a place to Shreyas Iyer.

In an interaction with the Times of India, Harbhajan Singh said that Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill should be included in the team for the above places.

He added that Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag could process the duties of the middle order, with Washington Sundar, Axar Patel and Kuldep Yadav his spin-bowling options.
Harbhajan Singh further said that Kl Rahul could be the first Sage Batsman of India in the Asia Cup, and he will compete with Rishabh Pant around the place. He said:

India Test captain Shubman Gill’s name is currently the biggest talk point in the Indian cricket, with conflicting reports that come out about his selection for the Asia Cup 2025.
In the meantime, Harbhajan Singh Shubman Gill has supported to reach the India’s Asia Cup team, because he thinks it can change the batter of acceleration and play ultra-aggressive cricket when needed.

Harbhajan also said that Gill has the ability to present pure dominance by playing big beats in T20i cricket.
“I think he can play the size well and also dominate. We used to look four and sixes, but it is not necessary that you only have to hit four and Zess in 20 overs. We also need someone who can play the big innings,” he added.
Some reports in particular claimed that Shubman Gill will be added to the Asia Cup 2025 team of India as a vice-captain, to replace Axar Patel in the roll.
But the latest reports suggest that it is not that simple, and he may not find it easy to get a place in what is considered a “permanent team”, in which Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma will probably continue as openers.
In general, Shubaman Gill scored 578 points for India in 21 T20i matches with an average of 30.42 and a success rate of 139.27.
