Brazilian skateboarding icon Sandro Dias has achieved what many thought would just be too dangerous to try, making two New Guinness World Records on a slope that seemed to defy gravity -and at the age of 50.
On the towering facade of Porto Alegre’s 22-storey Centro Administrativo Fernando Ferrari building, Dies descended from a breathtaking height of 230 feet (70 meters), with a fast speed of 64 MPH (103 km / h) all at its standard skateboard. Known for its unparalleled Vert-skills and several world championship titles, Dias managed to transform the nearly 300-foot (88.91-meter) government building into what has now been nicknamed “Ultimate Skate Ramp”.
To make it happen, the mega disaster was equipped with a temporary multiplex overlay with which the Super Skateboarder could safely navigate through the near-confusing surface. The performance on September 28, 2025, marked the completion of a long -standing urban legend because even Dias could not have practiced the performance. Instead, the 50 -year -old is carefully trained for months, building power, precision and mental power to tackle the unprecedented drop on the day. Unbelievable, he made four flawless attempts. The last descent took only eight seconds, but left a permanent mark in the history of skateboarding.
Sandro Dias establishes two new skateboarding World Records
Guinness World Records officials quickly verified the performance of Dias, Recognize him for the highest drop reached one on one in a temporary quarter pipe and the fastest speed. Thinking about the performance, Dias emphasized his plan to maintain perseverance: “I knew it was possible, but almost impossible to actually take off,” he said. “It doesn’t matter how far away your dreams seem, never give them up!”
Dias does indeed provide that age is not a barrier to push the boundaries of human skills and to inspire a new generation to reach higher limits.
