They say that behind every big man is a great woman, and in the bodybuilding world the embodiment of that quote is the reigning Mr. Olympia, Samson Dauda. It turned out to be a literal truth when he left the World Theater in Las Vegas, NV with wife Marlena a step behind him while he was wearing the Golden Sandow trophy that was awarded to the Mr. Olympia Champion 2024.
Dauda thought it was appropriate that his bride and coach held the trophy, because although the world saw him standing in comparisons with people like colleague Olympia champions Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan, he was certainly not alone.
Dauda explained: “Many people doubted that a woman would have the opportunity to coach at this level, but what she did not realize is that she has coached me since I first got on stage as a bodybuilder. She has been in the background all the time.”
Dauda has been a busy man since he and Marlena took the Sandow home. The 19th Mr. Olympia went around the world, usually with a can Celsius In his hand while he meets bodybuilding fans and does the sport of the sport. His reign has taken him to different places, and although he was already an internationally known star, the title has changed his life in many ways this last year. He also worked on the Samson -Business, including opening a gym and promoting his own show. The past 12 months have been memorable to say the least.
“It was absolutely great,” Dauda said proudly. “Every part of traveling the world and seeing people and being recognized as Mr. Olympia has been great. I enjoyed every part.”
Duada is more focused after losing Derek Lunsford on the Arnold Classic 2025
However, the reign of the Nigerian lion has not been perfect. Shortly after the 2024 Olympia, Dauda was again prepared for the Arnold Classic 2025 to maintain the momentum. A rejuvenated and rebellious Lunsford, however, put him dead in his spurs by taking the title and relegating Dauda to the second.
Although the finish did not go as he wanted, Dauda learned lessons that he intends to apply in the future.
“Of course I wanted to win at the time, but now I am grateful that that happened because I learned lessons from them, and now I am better when I enter the Olympia.”
The Nigerian Lion is looking for Olympia 2025
This is usually the part where the discussion about the champion that defends the title starts, but Dauda does not see his Olympia Prep from 2025 as a title defense. When he walks on stage at the Resorts World Theater in Las Vegas, NV for promoting on Friday, October 10, it is not about defending something. He has his first Olympia and will forever, now he wants to fill a trophy case with more.
“If you have that mentality to win another, it’s not a defense game,” Dauda explained. “I am just as hungry to win another as when I won the first. That mentality changes everything. I want number two.”
Dauda understands that the road to number two will not be easier than number one. The challengers are better, the lights are brighter and there are several hungry contenders who want to claim their first Sandow. The most important focus in the structure seems to be on Lunsford and 2022 Mr. Olympia Choopan.
Together with 2019, they will ever want to be the second man who will ever live the title back after losing. Watching fans will see a rarity with four Mr. Olympia champions on the same stage at the same time. Apart from that history, Dauda wants the record books to show him with the gold medal and that second Sandow in his possession again.
Dauda stated: “Jay Cutler was the first to win the title, and it is my task to make sure he remains the only one who did it. I want Jay that history to keep himself.”

Samson Duada and Quinton Eriya Back to Back Training
Dauda remembers the old days of M&F and Flex when the champions would share training courses for fans like him to apply. Mr. Olympia and Celsius decided to pay tribute that era and gave an example training with Supersets for you to try back on your schedule next time. Not all training sessions are linked, but Dauda believes that they are a key to his success and endurance. He also uses them when he thinks an area should be improved.
“If you train on that superset way, you train both the cardiovascular and the muscular systems. My body just responds so quickly.”
Dauda and training partner Quinton “Beastwood” Eriya performed this training for eight weeks from the Olympia.
