Samantha Rice breaks women’s powerlifting world records with historic 655-pound deadlift – Muscle & Fitness

Popular powerlifter Samantha Rice not only defended her crown at the fifth King & Queen of the Platform event, but she also managed to raise the bar again and break four world records, including the heaviest deadlift ever for a woman.

The inspirational lifter, known on Instagram as ‘Quads Like Mom’, is competing in the under 90kg category. lifted an astonishing 655.9 pounds (297.5 kg). at the meet in Port Charlotte, Florida on December 7, 2025, which gave her a world record for the heaviest deadlift ever in women’s powerlifting. However, this was only one of four records broken that day. During squats, Rice improved her existing record, lifting 500 pounds (282.5 kg). While bench pressing, she lifted a whopping 359.4 pounds (163 kg)which is a new record for both the U90kg division and the entire competition, with a total of four records.

“This was obviously super special for me because I had Ava with me,” Rice explained of the emotional post-lift celebration she was able to share with her daughter. “This is only the second time she has seen me compete in person. She helped me a lot during my last few weeks of training by pulling the monolift arms for me. She deserved to be here and share this moment with me.”

The event marked Rice’s twenty-fourth victory in sanctioned powerlifting competitions she remains undefeated. Her next meet will be in March at The Bar Showdown in Crestview, Florida. “There will be even bigger lifts,” she has told fans. “I’m not done yet.”
