Saily Review: Esims that keep you for less connected – Brokegirlrich

So today’s message is fast, but I have found a new economical thing to share.

I have often complained a bit about my problems with telephone plans and in two countries and then the $ 10/day travel plan connected to my American telephone number when I am outside the US or the VK, while I still don’t have a perfect plan for the times that I need security codes, etc. connected to my American bank accounts, my best friend has introduced me.

Esims.

Am I super behind time? I mean, I knew a bit about them and I do understand SIM cards, but they sometimes destroy my phone, they sometimes don’t work, they can be a challenge to use. You see where I am going.

She visits me for about two weeks every summer and the first summer we got her an EE -SIM card for her phone, which worked (after a trip to the store to make it work). When she got home, she had many problems working again to let her regular Sim work and she had to go to the telephone shop and the Apple Store to have it sorted.

The next two years we followed the same pattern, with a slightly easier transition back and with the help of different carriers. It was never super smooth, but in the end we got there. And it would usually cost her about £ 20 for 5-10 GB of data.

This is also weird, because how do you know how much data you use? We both googled how we could sort it out and were still a bit flumed. How can you also keep track of which apps cause the real problems (cough, cough, instagram) and what low drawing data are despite constant use (such as Google Maps).

Well, this year she received a new phone and she can no longer even use physical SIM cards. She appeared in England with an Esim through Saily, and I have to say – I am fully sold here.

She told me it was super easy to use. She installed it before she took off, switched on the switch upon arrival at Heathrow and texted me before she was off the plane.

This is what it looks like when you log in for the first time (although there are probably no data or land, because you don’t have one yet).

We had planned a long weekend away for Croatia and Montenegro, so I had the chance to try it out myself. The prices were a lot of Better than the $ 10/day travel plan (I paid $ 6 for 5 GB in Croatia and $ 3 for 1 GB in Montenegro), which is generally what I used earlier on these shorter journeys, because our primary navigator and activity booker, no access to cards and e-mail confirmations was always a no-go.

You go to a page that looks like this after the purchase of the Esim.

I downloaded the app and was shocked by how easy the whole thing was. I rumbled for a minute or two the first time I had set the Esim, despite super clear instructions. However, after I did it the first time, I went through the setup.

It is only 1, 2, 3, switch on the Sim.

I also like that you can follow your GB use, that I always have trouble understanding while traveling. You can set up for an automatic registration if you are concerned about disconnected, or you can manually choose to add data if you notice that you need more than you recommend that you would do so.

A small thing I have learned is to fully install the Esim before I arrive in the country, because you cannot set it without WiFi. I did my Croatia Esim before I left the UK, it fully installed, but let it be switched on my phone. When we landed in Croatia, I went to the cellular option, called in the Croatia -SIM, and it was all connected in about a minute, and I was good to go.

With Montenegro we drove there, and when we crossed the border, I tried to set up the Sim, but couldn’t connect it until we stopped for lunch. I have been able to use the WiFi restaurant, so make sure you have set everything before you leave where your WiFi or mobile data is currently working.

While you are reading this message now, I wander Egypt and I use another Saily Esim. It was absolutely more expensive (closer to $ 40), but because $ 40 is less than $ 90, I still consider it a victory.
