The national team of India U-17 men sealed their place in the semi-final of the Saff U-17 Championship 2025, after he was agreed 1-0 on Friday 19 September in their second group B-competition, in the Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo.
With this victory, India, which is on six points from two games, has protected their place in the SAFF U17 Championship 2025 semi -final. They then play Pakistan on Monday 22 September at 3 p.m. The winner of the game ends at the top of group B.
Super-sub Rahan Ahmed, introduced in the second half, scored the only goal of the game in the 57th minute, to give India a narrow 1-0 win. His efforts gave him the player of the match title.
In contrast to the goalkeeper of the goal-fest, the Blue Colts had to be patient and faced a stricter challenge than expected when the defense of Bhutan remained disciplined and retained, defying the predictions.
The first half witnessed India to press high and controlled possession, but Bhutan was compact with their game. The first real chance arrived in the 27th minute when Kamgouhao Dounggel came close with a header of a stylish Wangkheirakpam Gunleiba Cross, only to see the wide stable floating. India had several chances, but Bhutan’s defense was long to prevent India from found the breakthrough in the first half.
The blue foal returned after the break with renewed intention. The turning point eventually arrived in the 58th minute. Rahan remained a constant threat to Bhutan and almost yielded his brace in the 84th minute after he responded the fastest to a rebound in the area. He converted to the follow-up, but the referee did not allow the effort for a handball.
India succeeded the game well in the final phase and provided another clean sheet, and more importantly, three more points.
