This race takes place two days after the Buck Moon, which will still be 90% illuminated during the event. The Desert Sunset and Manzanita trees will also be completely visible.

What is a Buck MoonDo you ask?

Well, it is a full moon in July that is named after the fact that male deer has entered their entire mode.

The race itself is a 4.6 mile loop and they offer distances up to 9 miles and as long as 50k, the latter of which takes place on the Cahuilla Band of Indians Reservation.

As a note you need a headlight to participate.

Runner Colton Carter has run for the first time and had a great time:

“1 auxiliary post at the beginning/finish with everything you need. I hope you are ready to run in the heat! Great vibes, $ 10 for parking is eh after paying a high registration fee for 50k. Nice shirt at the finish, would suggest that a timing mat is, hand time is not reliable. Great people, people, great people.

The Marfa Lights Trail

Marfa, TX
No racing date, just open open

Marfa Lights, West Texas, Night Trail RunsIf you like all things spooky, mysterious and inexplicable, then you have to go your way to West -Texas to view the Marfa lights.

They were seen for the first time in the 1800s and have since signed stargazers, scientists and conspiracy theorists as flies.

The glowing bulbs or flickering light balls are usually white, yellow, orange or red and float, dart, merger and zippers over the night sky.

They are usually seen near Mitchell Flat, which is about 9 miles east of Marfa, and there is a viewing platform where you will meet other curiosity seekers every night.

Most scientists believe that the lights are the result of atmospheric reflections, effects of tectonic stress on quartz or headlights and campfires distorted at a distance.

The more open -minded among us blames spirits or Indian spirits, UFOs or other energy deviations that arise because of the unique geology of the area.

If you want to see them for yourself and form your own theory while you are going to do a job, there is a half -mile trace that offers a perfect view of the nearby sky.

You see the lights most likely after sunset or sunrise.

Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado also offers a fantastic view, and during the day you can also see the highest sand dunes in the US

Brewster County, Texas, is the home of Big Bend National Park and is also secluded and black as pitch ones that the sun sets. There are more than 800,000 hectares of protected, unspoilt wilderness to choose from, and the view of the night sky will definitely not disappoint.

Although you may be tempted to lie on your back and consider the air (and you should definitely have to do part of it), there are also paths in all these parks that are perfect for a nightly jog or a challenging walk under the stars.
