A proposal for the proposal from ICAA and Women’s Ice Hockey Rules Committee of NCAA to extend an assessment option to play misconduct in the game was approved on Wednesday for the 2025-26 season.

Last season, a conference was able to request an assessment of the NCAA Secretary-Ruess editor and national coordinator of officials for possible adjustment. This process was rarely used, but in those cases it was successful and corrected a handful of decisions.

Commission members think that this should extend to the fines of the game, who have a progressive component and essentially the same reasoning of honesty for the player.

The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel approved the change today.

PROP approved three other ice hockey proposals for the 2025-26 season:

Facial mask penalty

Adjustments to the criminal structure of the Face Mask rule include:
– A small fine for deliberately placing the hand on the mask and pushing the face mask of an opponent.
– A small fine to move an open hand back and forth over the face mask of an opponent (formerly a large fine).
-Large fine and a game behavior or game -Disqualification to discretion of the referee for a player who grabs and pulls or turns around to control an opponent’s face mask.

Important options for punishment assessment

If the officials on the IIC plan to enforce a large fine, a repetition of a repetition must be carried out in games that are played immediately. The panel approved the adjustment of the rule with regard to video reviews of large fines.

After the assessment, officials on IIC will have three options:

– Confirm a big fine.
– Reduce the large fine to a small fine.
– completely remove the fine if justified by the video review.

Teams should not dispute the result of the assessment.

High-stick The Puck

The panel approved the rule to clarify the Puck High-Stick de Puck by separating a goal (Puck may not be played higher than 4 feet, which is the height of the bar) and all others (Puck may not be played higher than above the shoulder of that player, who is destined). This is an adjustment from last season, when the rule did not contain the “normal standing height of the player”.
