Manchester United -boss Ruben Amorim would like to sign Ruben Neves in Old Trafford in January, according to Offside.

After rejecting Erik ten Hag last year, the Red Devils decided to appoint Amorim as the new head coach. However, the time of the Portuguese boss in Old Trafford has been poorer than under the Dutch boss.

United finished 15th in the last Premier League campaign and lost the Europa League final. As a result, they are this campaign without European football.

With a full preseason, it was thought that the Red Devils would improve this term. Man Utd, however, continued to show disappointing performance and collected four points of so many competition matches. They are even surprisingly lost from the fourth side Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup.

As a result, a large part of the fan base has already lost confidence in the former sporty CP boss and they started demanding a new change. However, it has been suggested that Amorim’s task is safe for the time being.

Now, Offside Suppose Amorim has identified midfield as an area that needs to be strengthened to change the situation at Man Utd and believes that Neves would be a perfect option.

After showing striking versions in the Premier League for Wolves, the 28-year-old came to Saudi-Arabian club Al-Hilal a few years ago. However, he is ready to return to Europe for a reimbursement of approximately £ 17 million in January.

Man Utd has identified Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba as serious options to renew the engine room next year. However, Neves can be a cheap alternative option. It is not yet clear whether United will grant the wish of Amorim and will make a switch in January to sign Neves.

The Portuguese is a Premier League-Covered player and can be a smart acquisition for Man Utd if they buy it. However, it becomes interesting to see if Amorim’s side ultimately makes a concrete approach to secure his service next year.

Meanwhile, Man Utd renewed the attacking department by signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko this summer. Moreover, they bought Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp to strengthen the keeper department. In general, they splash around £ 220 million.
