I live in the southeast, which means that I have to buy enough Hornets games. Instead, the NBA wants me to spend 20 dollars a month on a streaming subscription – and nobody is concerned with that life. If they ever appear on Hulu live, guess. But that is an access problem. On the field, Zuidoost has a number of the most intriguing teams of the competition: contenders, emerging teams and the wizards – which would be the first in line if the NBA would ever decide to relegate.
Atlanta Haviken: Hotlanta goes for it, but keep an eye on the attack. Jalen Johnson and Kristaps Porzingis start as attackers. If you haven’t noticed it yet: they miss a lot of time. Historically they missed a lot of time. Chances are that they will miss time this season. Johnson had a shoulder last year and the year before several single problems. Porzingas only played 41 games and missed time due to a strange disease and an ankle problem. Zaccharie Risacher will have playing minutes all season as their primary backup, and will get more if the injury strikes.
Luke Kennard is my reserve assurance. Look, it’s a rhyme! They love their shooters next to Trae Young. Kennards only skill is shooting. Fire him, look for a solid 24 minutes or so and many three.
Onyeka Okongwu finally has an open runway to start. We no longer have to talk about center minutes for Atlanta! It is a bit sad, but also happy. Nostalgia.
Charlotte Horzels: If you look at the depth graph for Charlotte and go to the SF section, it is empty. For example, there is no good option with the three. I am not sure why you could not just put Kreuppel in it, right? He can hit the open springer. Consistency will be difficult, since he is a rookie with just one year of college Ball, at least in the beginning. Ignore someone else in this place safely.
In the middle, Moussa Diabate is the only one with actual NBA potential. I love Mason Plumlee and appreciate everything he has done for my Duke Blue Devils, but he is 35. Diabate per 36 was on average a bargain and a block. Those are 2 shares! In 8 Starts, De Aluin got Michigan (well, I don’t think he graduated in his only university season) on average 7.6 points and 11 rebounds. The attacking skills are not there and he cannot shoot (59% free throws). But if you are looking for the statistics of the big man and you are not worried about free throws (since a starter had an average of two per match), then he is your blueberry.
Colin Sexton is a must-have. Lamelo Ball and Brandon Miller have a long injury history. Now that I look at it, Miller could be the SF and ball and sexton the guards. All three are locks for 30 minutes
Miami Heat: Tyler Herro is out, and the obvious beneficiary is … ..nikola Jovic? Jovic has just signed an extension. NBA teams do not draw people for extensions unless they intend to play them. This season he will get to work. Remove him from the bank about 24 minutes.
Orlando Magic: The middle struggle is the one you have to view here again. They are not entirely the Hawks, but Wendell Carter and Goga Bitazde will fight it again for minutes. I have my doubts about whether there is a real winner. Well, you force me. I would choose Carter, but I am a biased Duke fan in this area.
Jalen Suggs still recovers from a knee injury. You know the exercise. This has not been announced, but probably no back-to-backs, minute restrictions, things like that. Anthony Black gets a bit of a hype. He is 6-7. He does shoot and occasionally makes a three -point. To begin with, I predict an even distribution. Suggs is too valuable for Orlando’s play-offs and would like to put him at the stake in the beginning.
Washington Wizards: Point Guard Bubs Carrington hurt his thumb, so theoretically Kyshawn George gets minutes to start.
CJ McCollum and Khris Middleton are in this team. I didn’t remember it either, don’t worry. They run the risk that they will get a deal or that the minutes will be shortened.
Carrington, Bilal Coulibaly and Alex Sarr are all safe. The rest of the selection can be determined in more detail. After all, this is a team that won 18 last season.
Continue my quirky sons. On to the west as next.
