The Cincinnati Reds today made a number of grid movements prior to the Serief final in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. Nick Lodolo returns from the 15-day wounded list after dealing with a blister problem on his left hand. He takes the place on the 26-man selection of Graham Ashcraft, which is on his way to the injured list of what is called a correct forearm tribe for the time being.
With Graham Ashcraft there will probably be more information when manager Terry Francona meets the media for the competition. He had an MRI after experiencing pain/tightness in his forearm at his wrist, but there has been no information about what it came so far. What we do know is that his placement on the wounded list of retroactive force was until the 25th and that from that moment he will miss at least 15 days before he comes back to return.
For Nick Lodolo he missed a little more than three weeks while he is dealing with the blister problem on his pitching hand. He left his start on August 4 in the 2nd inning after throwing 1.2 Perfect innings and only 22 fields before the Blaar became a problem and he transferred the competition to the Bullpen. In the four starts before that, he had only allowed four points earned in 27.1 innings while he had beaten 30 batters with only two free running.
Getting lodolo back can be quite beneficial for the Reds. The Lefty, who made 23 starts this season and has thrown 129.2 Innings, has posted a 3.05 ERA this year and only has 24 walks to go with 124 strikeouts. Not that the rotation was in a bad place without him, but it’s in a better place with him. And his return probably also means that Nick Martinez, who had been in the rotation, slips into a bullpin role where he was able to find success in his limited action there this year.
