The mayor of Milan Beppe Sala participated in the manifestation In Rome, in Piazza del Popolo, for Europe, from an idea by journalist Michele Serra, Saturday 15 March. And on his arrival, he said, among other things, that he did not want to underline the differences between all those who were on the square (about 30 thousand people), and added “Europe as my home country to hear as much as Italy”.

Referring to the large -scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine, the mayor of Milan said that he was convinced: “That this is a war that, that we like or not, should be fought for the well -being of Europe. With weapons? Well, how did the Partizans fought with it?”. He added that he “worried about this Poetsinian imperialism, always” and said that he received the mayor of Kharkiv in Palazzo Marino, the second Ukrainian city last week: “He made me terror stories. Ukrainian should not be abandoned”.

“There is a war to fight”

Regarding the most “hot” theme of these days, that is, the ‘Herbom Europe’ plan presented by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, Sala did not want to give his precise evaluation: “If I had been there, I would be deepened”. And he concluded: “There is a war about the fact to fight, I believe that.”

“Peace must be the right peace”

On February 21, which inaugurated the temporary installation of a large sunflower (symbol of Ukraine) in the library of the trees in Milan, Sala had said that you can see a few words. Times when the boundary between truth and lies is tagged, but there is only one truth and only one attacked people who are the Ukrainian.
