Federico Gatti came off the bench to rescue a point for Juventus as his 93rd-minute equalizer secured a 3–3 draw against top-four rivals Roma at Stadio Olimpico.
Juventus looked to be seven points behind Roma in Serie A after being two goals behind, but substitutes Jeremy Boga and Gatti secured a share of the spoils late on.
Roma took the lead six minutes before half-time when Wesley cut inside from the left and bent a glorious effort past Mattia Perin into the top right corner.
However, Juventus responded with a stunner of their own in the 47th minute, with Francisco Conceicao flashing into the roof of the net for the first time from the edge of the penalty area.
However, Roma restored their lead just seven minutes later when a short corner ended with Lorenzo Pellegrini’s cross being headed in by an unmarked Evan Ndicka.
The in-form Donyell Malen was then called into action with a poor finish in the 65th minute, but Boga halved the deficit after Zeki Celik failed to deal with a cross.
And just five minutes after coming on, Gatti hammered home an equalizer from close range as he reacted quickest to Edon Zhegrova’s free-kick, which had caused confusion in Roma’s penalty area.

Data debrief: Gatti’s late show undoes Malen’s magic
There was greater significance to this match given the context of the race for Champions League football this season, and although both teams came away with a point, it was certainly a spectacle for the neutral side.
After all, it is only the fourth time that a total of at least six goals have been scored in matches between Roma and Juventus in Serie A at the Olimpico, after 3-4 in January 2022, 3-3 in January 1962 and 1-5 in November 1946.
Gatti’s late intervention overshadowed Malen’s sixth goal since joining AS Roma from Aston Villa. Since his Serie A debut on January 18, only Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane (nine) has scored more times than the Dutchman in the top five European leagues.
And Roma may feel they have done enough to clinch all three points, having achieved an expected goals ratio (xG) of 1.65 from their 11 attempts against Juventus’ 1.39 from their 13 shots in the match, but their defensive vulnerability came back to bite them.
