Sharma retired after the T20 World Cup last year and did the same in tests for the India vs England Series. The Hitman has an eye on the prize in South Africa, but may not be offered that chance.

According to a Hindustan Times report, BCCI expected Rohit Sharma withdrew from all forms of cricket when he stopped test cricket. The 38-year-old, however, surprised everyone with his decision to continue in ODIs, with an eye on the World Championship 2027.
