India captain Rohit Sharma has successfully deleted his fitness review in the BCCI’s Center of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru, which made the road clear for his return to international cricket.

In addition to Rohit, Test Skipper Shubman Gill and Pace Spearhead Japrit Bumrah have also passed the mandatory tests.

The players were gone through the standard Yoyo test, together with the newly introduced Bronco test, both crucial measures to determine endurance and match-readiness.

After a one-month break, the assessment round comes before the Indian cricketers after their high-pressure England tour earlier this year.

While Rohit and various others have been deleted, the uncertainty about Virat Kohli remains. Currently based in London, the former captain has yet to undergo his fitness evaluation.

Rohit, 37, looked cheerful earlier this week when he was seen on Mumbai Airport before he traveled to Bengaluru for the tests.

The veteran opener, who withdrew from Tests and T20is, last for India in the Champions Trophy Final in March, where he scored great in the victory over New Zealand.

Since then, his only outing at Mumbai Indians during IPL 2025. After extensive training in Mumbai in Mumbai under good friend and former India assistant coach ABishek Nayar, Rohit will then be seen in action during the White-Ball Tour through India through Australia.

The three-match ODI series, planned between 19 and 25 October in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney, will mark its international return for a five-match T20i series.
