Legendary captain of the Indian National Cricket Team, Rohit Sharma arrived at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai to cheer on the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side in the final of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.

Rohit Sharma was accompanied at the stadium by his wife Ritika Sajdeh, and other big names like God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar, legendary Sunil Gavaskar, batting great VVS Laxman, and ICC Chairman Jay Shah were also spotted in the stands.

The India Women’s National Cricket Team is currently involved in an exciting top-flight match against the South African Women’s National Cricket Team. The Proteas are a strong unit and they gave the Indian team a tough fight.

Team India players have created some magical moments on the field in the ongoing game and have received immense support from the crowd present in Navi Mumbai and across the country.

Several big superstars like Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Sunil Gavaskar, as well as Nita Ambani and Jay Shah were seen in the stands cheering on the Women In Blue.

Rohit was seen wearing a white T-shirt and a black cap as he walked into the hospitality box before sitting next to his wife, Ritika Sajdeh. Seeing Rohit at the venue, his close friend and former teammate Dinesh Karthik, who commented, said:

“Oh, there’s a familiar face. He wants to be part of that moment. He told me yesterday that when India crosses that line, he wants to be part of that moment and feel what it’s like to win the World Cup on home soil.”

Rohit Sharma, in a video shared by the ICC at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, said that the India Women’s team came very close to winning the title but failed to cross the finish line. He said:

“I know what they’ve been through all these years, chasing that elusive trophy. It’s always been tough. We’ve come very close so many times but couldn’t cross the line. It’s been the same story for both teams over the last 15 years. I really hope they get over the line this time.”

The World Cup-winning captain further praised India Women for playing sensational cricket over the years and hoped that the team would finally cross the finish line and win their first ever World Cup. He said:

“The way we played that match was fantastic to watch. So it doesn’t surprise me that 50,000 people are here today. Together with them, the entire country is behind these fifteen players.”

“They have already made huge strides in the last five or six years, and it will only grow from here,” Rohit added. “I hope they get the crown today. That would benefit not only these players but also the younger generation who look up to them. There are no better ambassadors for the game than those who are here now.”
