Team India opening batsman Rohit Sharma shared a post on social media after the third and final ODI against Australia, which took place on Saturday, October 25, at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The right-handed batsman stated that this could possibly be his last appearance in international cricket on Australian soil.
Rohit played a match-winning innings in the last ODI against Australia. He scored an unbeaten 121 off 125 balls, including 13 fours and three sixes, to help India chase a target of 237 runs with nine wickets in hand. The 38-year-old was named Player of the Series for his performances throughout the series.

A day after the match, Rohit Sharma took to his social media account X (formerly known as Twitter) to say goodbye to Sydney as this could possibly be his last international appearance in the city.

After winning the toss, Australia opted to bat first in the third ODI but struggled to build a big total. Matt Renshaw scored 56 from 58 balls and captain Mitchell Marsh added 41 from 50 deliveries. The hosts were bowled out for 236 in 46.4 overs. Harshit Rana picked up 4 wickets for 39 runs in his 8.4 overs.
India started their chase with openers Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma adding 69 runs. After Gill was dismissed for 24, Virat Kohli joined Rohit at number 3. Rohit scored his 33rd ODI century, while Kohli contributed an unbeaten 74. They added an unbeaten partnership of 168 runs for the second wicket.
Despite Australia winning the series 2-1, Rohit and Kohli’s excellent partnership stole the spotlight in Sydney. The duo will next feature in the three-match ODI series at home against South Africa starting November 30 in Ranchi.
